Where is Erdinger Beer brewed?
The private Erdinger Brewery – also called Erdinger Weissbräu – was founded in 1886 by Johann Kienle in Erding, Germany.
However, the brewery would only become known as Erdinger Weissbräu in 1949, when General Manager Franz Brombach changed its name.
Brombach bought the brewery several years before, in 1935, and today, the Brombach name is still synonymous with Erdinger Weissbier.

Franz Brombach’s son, Werner Brombach, has owned the Erdinger Brewery since 1975.

If you and your friends plan to do a brewery tour, remember that the bottling plant is not operational from Friday midday to Saturday.
Should you be visiting the brewery on these days, an interesting film can be viewed that showcases the bottling plant’s operations.
Tour times
Together with your beer tasting with a snack, the entire brewery tour will take around three hours.
There are a lot of steps on the route, which means the tour would not be suited for people using wheelchairs.
